Hi all, question about a potential hiccup in a friend's new sabre:

It's a new Dark Liberator v3 w/ Sound & FoC (FO w/ SY FoC is what was ordered).  We got together last night for our first dueling session and about mid-way through it, every so often after our blades clashed her sabre would 'reboot', that is, it would turn off, and then the bootup sound on the Obsidian would play, as though power had been knocked off and restored.  I pulled the battery pack out and checked it -- the battery was secure in the holder, the dummy battery was also secure, nothing seemed loose.

The only thing I can think of is that something in the makeup is being knocked loose for a moment due to the impact, but if the battery can't move all that much, is it an indication of perhaps a worse problem in the innards?  Or are there known cases where batteries can shift like this (over and over again, it became quite a regular occurrence), and thereby display this effect?  Some other interesting explanation?

thanks,

peace,

Kannik

Try sending a email to them at [email protected]

Did you try using it after you checked the battery?

We did -- I ended up checking the battery twice Tongue  Both times seemed nice snug and secure...

We'll fire off an email.  Smiley

Try wrapping some electrical tape around the battery pack, just to make sure.  Also, check the connections and wiring for any loose stuff.  Might be that you'll find a little loose wire.

Sometimes a battery holder's spring isn't stiff enough to hold the battery in place.  You can do a simple mod to take up the slack, like using some coins as a shim or wrapping the pack with some tape.  Let us know how it goes.
