I am trying to locate the Buck Puck. I searched threads and found that if you pull the battery setup out it should be behind in the hilt. Im not seeing that on any of my sabers with the Li-Ion setup with Buck Pucks. My question is have they attached it to the actual battery setup? There is black electrical tape wrapped around the backside of the battery pack covering the wires etc. I did find out that one of my sabers that was supposed to have a buck puck actually has a resistor. That kinda disappoints me since I paid extra for that. Any help would be great Thanks

On mine with buck pucks, it is located further up the wiring between the switch and the soundboard or battery holder.  It might be wrapped with the other wires (especially if there is a soundboard involved) but none of mine are like that (at least to my knowledge).  You might want to unwrap the wires are see if it there. US uses a thin circuit board buck puck and wraps it in electrical tape (it is not like what is shown on the "Electronics" part of the "Lightsabers Parts" menu).  As to the resistor, are you sure the resistor is in place of the buck puck and not for the LED.  If it is a mixed color that uses an RGB LED (Violet Amethyst, Sunrider's Destinty, Arctic Blue) there will be a resistor before the LED in order to mix the color properly.  That might not be the case, but it something to look for.

Hey Sithlord77,

Yeah - the puck would be attached to the battery sled with electrical tape.  They actually fit there pretty good.

A way to tell, without removing the tape, is to look for a blue wire & white wire coming out of there.  That'd be the puck.

A mixed colour LED (anything not a primary colour) will have an extra resistor attached, in addition to a puck.  Just sayin'...  maybe that's what you saw, or maybe not.

Thanks for the replies guys. Im pretty sure this is a resistor. The red wire with yellow sleeves

All I know is that there is nothing but wires from the battery sled to the AV Switch. But if its attached to the Battery/Soundboard/Speaker set up wrapped in electrical tape then I guess its there. Heres a picture of my wires coming from my Chosen One. I dont see White or Blue.

Does your saber have flash on clash?
I ask because that is a lot of extra wires by the switch in the first picture and yes that is definitely a resistor.

No I dont have flash on clash as I get the Tri-Cree LEDs and thats not an option. Im just hoping that since they were so backed up and short on parts they are using maybe different color wires.

Yep it is.  Chosen One.  Nice.  What colour?

The puck could still be there.  The blue & red could be under the tape...if you paid for it, I'm willing to bet it's there.

Illuminated switch?

Flash on clash would be two additional wires. Tri -cree explains all the extra!  I thought it was odd and had to ask.

No that pic is my Initiate V5 that was supposed to have a buck puck.
The other pic is my Chosen One. Its Tri Blazing Red. Yes with Illuminated Red AV Switch. I hope they are but since I found one without a buck puck and a resistor it got my interest peaked.

Heres my collection:

Pic 1, you have 2 grey wires. All my sabers from US use grey for the switch. Black and red are negative and positive with the resistor.  They go up and then split into 3 for the tri-cree. Only those 4 wires go up the hilt past the switch.

Pic2, shows a yellow and orange wire. Where do they go? If it was to power an illuminated switch, they would need to go to the switch. Right!
They don't seem to extend up the hilt, so I would guess the are looped back into the taped up section.  Those are probably from the buckpack and are connected to the red, black (pos and neg).

 Just my guess from observation.

Edited,
So those are pictures of two different hilts?
Ignore everything I just said.

Im just hoping that they are there I just was a bit confused when I did find a resistor in one and I have the Li-Ion setup with buckpuck for all my sound sabers. If they are attached to the battery housing and wrapped up then Im good I guess.

Alright yeah - bit confused...lol

IF they didn't have a 700mA buckpuck, then MAYBE you might have gotten a resistor instead - for a red LED, but I'd think you would have been told that in advance, so still bet you have pucks...lol

OR, if it's a 1000mA puck, there'd still be a resistor on a red...

I'm not sure about the extra wires (orange & yellow)...illuminated switch would be higher up the hilt...maybe though.

Also I dont know if they changed design or size but I was going by the US YouTube video about what the buck puck would look like.

Well yep.  From my understanding (every one I ever got), that's them.  Almost a cube.

It ought to be there.  Remove the tape, and see.

If you truly didn't get one, there's got to be be a really good reason for it, but you ought to have known that.
