Hey Saber Fans,
This is my review of the Shock LE. This is also my first review so I will do the best I can & hope everything turns out well.
1st. I wanna send a big thanks to Ultra for re-releasing this model as I did miss out on the first time it was released. But I did get a Consular, lol.
2nd. I wanna send a huge thanks to Emory aka Deep, for putting up with all my emails I sent him. I'm sure he was tired of seeing my name, lol.
Ok moving on, here's what I got.
I ordered the Shock LE w/Ultra Edge & Fire Orange LED. I added an Orange Activation Switch from TCSS, Obsidian USB Sound w/Li-Ion Batteries, Quick Disconnect, & round tip.
I wanna say that Jabsonic beat me on getting his Shock LE w/Fire Orange but I got mine with the Orange Activation Switch which is what he was thinking of, so I beat him to that., lol. I live in S. Florida so I added in the 3 day select shipping so it would arrive sooner as I wanted it then & now after placing the order.
My first impression upon seeing this saber was that this was a TOR saber. "A more elegant weapon from a more civilized age" This saber in my opinion looks like it came from the era of The Old Republic. It's 2 tone colors that compliment each other along with its design make this saber a joy to wield.
Its smooth yet sleek, beautiful yet deadly & its light weight body with a comfortable frame to grip make this one of UltraSabers best creations.
The Fire Orange & Ultra Edge Blade look great to me & in my opinion as others who share this will agree, Fire Orange is so under rated. Its just not given enough credit. I hope some of my pics can prove this. Even the batteries on half a charge when it arrives, still make this color stand out. The Obsidian USB sound is just incredible and if your debating on getting, just get it. Its so worth it in every way.
So on the day of its arrival I made sure to sleep in the living room as I had a bad feeling about the UPS guy not leaving my package. Especially cause I had to sign for it. Good thing that I did, cause this must have been a new kid as I barley heard him tap on my door. The other's ring the doorbell which is pretty loud & knock pretty hard. They do this a few times before leaving. This guy tapped & was walking away when I jumped up & ran for the door. I opened it & yelled out "HEY!!!" He looked back saying that he didn't think anyone was home. I told him he needed to knock louder & use the doorbell. I signed for my package and eagerly took it inside locking the door behind me. As I was becoming more awake & alert, I was feeling a bit like Indiana Jones discovering the Ark of the Covenant.
Then I started to notice the box more & more as I was looking it over deciding which side to open it from. There was almost a 45 degree angle bend in the box. Suddenly I was completely awake & a moment of fright hit me as I was saying out loud, "You've got to be kidding me?!" My thought was that the blade was bent or even worse, broke. Here's a picture of what the box looked like.
You can see by the bend marks where packages much heavier were stacked against it.

But thanks to UltraSabers, as I assume from complaints by others about UPS they started using different packing methods. I for one am glad. This is what the new wrap looks like.

They use a 2'x4' sheet of bubble wrap along with a some packing peanuts.

So while I had the measuring tapes out I decided to show the length of the saber.

After moving the bubble wrap & measuring tapes I was ready for first activation by me and was in utter awe of such elegance. I propped it up & snapped this pic.

I then place it on the floor & snapped this pic with the lights on.

Next was the real test... lights off & a little closer.

I realized the flash was on, so I made sure to turn it off & take this next pic in the dark. I think this is the best picture of all.

It took me a few days to take these pics as I was trying to get the best ones. Then I had to narrow it down to only these that I thought were the best to use for my review. There were quite a lot to go through, lol.
This saber is remarkable in every way. I love how all the colors from the duo tone hilt, to the blade color, & color of the activation switch all blend perfectly the way I envisioned it would. I think its the perfect saber & color for my character. One that fits a Jedi of the Grey. Its strong & defiant but also artistic & elegant.
I've also wanted for years as my personal saber an Orange blade. It just stands out & is different from the rest. Thanks UltraSabers for making this possible.
Well that's it, sorry it was long but I wanted my first review to be informational. I also made a video & that took me about 50 tries to get it right along with recharging my phone or the batteries of the saber or both, lol. I will post that also. Your comments are welcome & I look forward to what those who read this will say. I hope it helps some that are trying to decide what to get, be it there First saber or Fifth.
Enjoy, Thanks, May the Force be with You, & Happy Halloween.
