Watching Friends on Netflix just isn't gonna happen. Not only do I not have Netflix, but I can't stand the characters in Friends. While I'm setting myself up as a target for ridicule, I might as well share that I could never relate to the characters in Seinfeld, either. They just weren't even close to believable for me. Now, The Big Bang Theory? Oh, yeah, those characters made much more sense (even though they were exaggerations, just like in the other shows).

Watching Friends on Netflix is the closest I get to having friends...... It and Fraiser still hold up to me....and now I feel old. TIL Friends is 25 years old.

I actually liked Seinfeld. It makes fun of the stupid $#!% from everyday life that no one really pays attention to, but the vast majority end up doing. Sometimes it's not about relating with the characters as much as it is just watching them. One of the things I love about BBT is the running gag of Sheldon's habits. Particularly "<knock knock knock> Penny. <knock knock knock> Penny. <knock knock knock> Penny." But more than that is the evolution of her response to it. <knock knock knock> Penny. <knock knock knock> Sheldon. <knock knock knock> Penny. <knock knock knock> Sheldon. <knock knock knock> PENNY! <knock knock knock> SHELDON! Or Raj's complete inability to talk to a woman without alcohol. Y'know...little things. But then, I love character development. |

I would upvote this x100 if I could Logos; literally made me LOL  On a more serious note, it is for this reason that the Sequel Trilogy is such a disappointment: even discounting the new characters (who deserve better IMO), the decisions about the Original Trilogy characters (ESPECIALLY Luke) has been nothing short of disastrous. At this point, I can only hope that Episode IX will help to redeem the Saga. Exactly. I also agree with this. When I first saw the Clone Wars movie, I was unimpressed (understatement) to say the least. But then I started watching TCW show and from season to season, Ahsoka became less annoying and much, MUCH more interesting to the point that she is now one of my favorite characters (ESPECIALLY with her Season 5 arc, culminating in her ***SPOILERS*** quitting the Jedi Order). Point of fact, one of the biggest reasons that I want to get Disney+ is so then I can see the new Clone Wars season. |

It will. It'll end.  Hopefully then Disney will realize what a colossal cluster #$%& the current canon is, and scrub the whole thing again, hire writers with ACTUAL creative talent, and fold in more of the OC. Point of fact, one of the biggest reasons that I want to get Disney+ is so then I can see the new Clone Wars season.
SPOILERS You're not missing much. It's mostly kids show crap, and relies heavily on nostalgia (like that's anything new). It has very few note worthy plot points, and per Filoni usual, butchers more than it enhances. |
