It may seem like I am fishing for points, but It is absolutely wonderful that the ladies we have here on the forum are more creative than wearing a simple Slave Leia outfit; i.e. Justicar's Kylo Ren or Jedi Nox's Anakin.

I missed this while I was at the con...
Oh my goodness, the one costume at the end...made me laugh so hard!
I just wish that aside from the one example (from GI Joe?), more of those outfits had been serious characters and not ones that are just there to be sexy. That's how I felt...I didn't want to be seen as sexy, but be judged like the male cosplayers. To be able to evoke the power of such a character. Heck, because of my build, if I don't talk, I can vanish entirely into my costume when I wear my mask. Pardon me for putting it crudely, but among many other things, it becomes a bit of a middle finger to people's expectations of what I "should" do as a woman.
Admittedly I did get called "cute" once or twice with my mask off, but I was very pleased overall with the feedback I received.
I loved my experience at the con. I will DEFINITELY do it again.
I swear, though, if I see a Slave Leia at any con I go to in the future, I am going to get the nastiest, most vicious look on my face and I'm going to yell, "MOTHER, YOU HAVE SHAMED ME!!!!"

My biggest problem with being Anakin was my height. I'm not "short" per se, but I'm shorter than Anakin. I remedied this with some of my TFA cosplays. My Kylo Ren boots make me quite tall and not one person has ever commented on it. They're too busy going, " . . . BYE!" and running in the opposite direction. The same with Lieutenant Mitaka. No one has noticed that the boots have a "lift" to them.
And if I'm being honest, I despise most "sexy" female cosplaying, not because it's showing skin or being sexy, but because it's so absurdly impractical AND uncomfortable.

Goodness knows I'm shorter than Adam Driver...and no boots would ever come even close to fixing that...but I still got a lot of positive feedback and I was probably the most intense *actor* in the role of Kylo Ren at my con.
And amen on comfortable. I WAS comfortable, dagnabbit, even though the temps stayed in the 40's all day.

My First Order stuff is VERY comfortable, even though it all looks severe as hell. Kylo has so many layers to his, it can be a bit hot, but still comfortable!
