Ladies and gentlemen of SaberForum, I present to you my US Qui-Gon Jinn, formerly the Consular.
When I first got it, I knew I wanted to do something special with it, so I set about finding where I can get an accurate AV switch and holes drilled into the shroud. As you all know, I got the shroud done first by Caz of Darkside Engineering.
Next came the switch. I contacted One Replicas VIA email because I knew he made a special switch for his Qui-Gon sabers.
So it sat around in my room for awhile until I met with a guy who just happened to know how to work wonders with a soldering iron and wiring (as I have no idea how to work with either in fear of damaging the saber) and he installed the switch over the weekend.
Needless to say, I am pleased with how this turned out. It was a bit more elaborate than what I originally planned (if my Consular had come with a black guarded momentary switch, I would have gotten a red TCSS thumbscrew, dremeled the screw part off and glued it to the button itself that way or would have gotten a Sedsti Skyfaller switch cover in the button style). Also I decided to use a silver screw on the covertec wheel to make it a little more accurate, and I think the saber is pretty much perfect now.
Thanks for looking guys and if you ever have an idea for your sabers, plan it out, then implement it, then bask in the glory of your personalization/customization. As always, May the Force be with you, always.
