Here's a few pics of my Saber with some custom vents in the blade holder. I have a short vid as well if anyone wants to see the colors changing through the voids in the hilt in motion! When I get it back (having a charge port added) I'l post pics complete with claws and blade. Let me know what you think!! Cheers.     |

I have only completed 1 of the 3 Vent columns so far. The blade & Claws were just removed for shipping purposes. (Im having a recharge port added) Its not currently in my possession, so I cant (at the moment) finish the job & take the photos Id like...but in a few weeks, when its back and I can finish the vents...it WILL be done. Right back at ya friend! I can't wait until it gets back in my hands...still processing, on my Ultrasabers account. And then, the long tracking process until my Raven (and it's new little brother!) are mine. I'm itching to finish the venting procedure. In the meanwhile, I have a few ideas about "splitting" the claws and /or shaping them smoothly into the hilt!! Can't wait. These Sabers can REALLY bring out the youthful spirit in anyone.  |

I may have missed this, but how did you make the vents? I don't have my Raven in hand yet, so I can't tell what material it is up top, but I assume some sort of metal. Did you use a dremel, or something else? Are there any in progress pics, or when you do the rest of the vents would you mind taking a couple?

when I get my Raven back, and continue my venting process. I will post some pics during the "surgery". I am using a Dremel rotary tool with a high speed cutting attachment. The only part from my Saber that is being cut into is the blade holder (the Raven has its own unique removable blade holder) The silver engraved lines on it are slightly inset from the black surface - but that does not make it any easier to stay steady at 32,000 RPM's . The material is aircraft grade aluminum. And it somewhere between 1/8th & 3/16th's of an inch thick!. It's not flimsy in the least!!. Took quite a lot of time and patience to achieve those cuts without affecting the overall integrity of the sleeve. Lots of cooling down cycles between the cutting and fine sanding phases of the process....Well worth it though. Thanks for the feedback guys. Keep it up! Cheers |
