   Hi guys

I'm new to the site and to custom light sabers and I have a few questions about customization.

What is the inner diameter of the hilt. I would like to build a cystal chamber and would like to know if the standard kits will work?

Also when will you be restocking the single blade starters? Most of them seem to be on back order.

Hey  Duhjoker!

Welcome to the forum.

You'll find a great many people here that can answer any, and all of your questions.

First you'll need to acknowledge the rules though...

Hilts do vary in diameter, so the inner diameter would depend on the specific hilt.

I'd be very interested to see that, when it's completed. Smiley

Here's your first point for reading the rules, and for ingenuity and drive. Smiley

Are all the hilts 3 piece ( emitter, body, pommel)? It would give more customization it the main body is two pieces.

Yes indeed, I believe they are.  Most incorporate the MHS (modular hilt system), and emitters and pommels are inter-changeable.

As far as I know though, no hilt is two-piece.

A better, more informed answer would be from someone in the technical or customization sections...

Oh, and thanks for doing the rule thing.  Everyone does - it keeps us all accountable. Smiley

I'm sorry.

You're clearly already in Customizations.

That's how smart I am.  Roll Eyes

Just speaking from experience, the body of the Mantis saber (curved one) is actually 4 main pieces (emitter, elbow, body, pommel). I got a Standard Battle Issue saber as a grab-bag, and that one is just one solid piece for the emitter + body. You'll have to look around to see about the others, I'm afraid.

I'm actually doing a Mantis tear-down as we speak (need to replace the switch), so hopefully that'll be the place to go for Mantis info (should you need it).

Hmmm..... One piece body will make it kinda hard to do the crystal reveal, unless....

Are all the parts interchangeable with MHS? Could I add another section between the pommel and main body?

After the basic electronics ( Light mod and power ) how much room is left in the hilt.

Are there any pics or diagrams to the inner workings of the hilt? What are the various inner diameters?

All of the sabers from the start of the page to the Bellicose are one piece hilts plus the pommel if that makes sense.

I know what you mean. I figured out how to do the crystal chamber I think. It would make it easier if the saber came dis-assembled that way I could run a jumper wire off the switch.

Basically I'll use the most bottom area of the hilt to house the chamber with the main power I between. That should give the appearance of a of an energization chamber. Do a lil detail work on the battery to make it look more like circuits and capacitors.
