OK, this may have been asked and answered, but here goes: I have a stunt saber with Li-Ion/buck puck setup.  I like it, but I was wondering if I could in fact run the saber using normal AA batteries in a pinch?  I know normal AAs do not provide the power needed to run Obsidian and/or Emerald, but this is a stunt with a normal LED.  Will the buck-puck prohibit using normal AAs, or will it damage anything? 

Just curious if anyone knows, before I do something stupid and slap some Energizers in there...

I don't think it would have enough forward voltage. A typical AA battery is 1.5V and the buckpuck requires at least 5V to run. I doubt they would be sufficient to power the saber.

OK, that's what I suspected.  The pack is only a 2 battery pack, so 3v output... Nope, not gonna do it.  Guess I just need to invest in some extra Li-Ion batteries so I can take a fresh pair with me.  :-)

The standard setup uses four AAA batteries, which is double what two AA batteries will put out.  So no, it won't work.
