Oscar season is upon us with the nominations for this year's ceremony recently announced. However, there seems to be growing sentiment about the lack of diversity in the nominees.

Personally, I think there is a massive lack of opportunities in front/behind the cameras in Hollywood for many demographics, whether that be race, gender or sexual orientation.
In 2014 they did a survey of the 7600 Academy Award voting members: 94% Caucasian, 76% male with an average of 63 years old. How is that an accurate representation of the movie going public?
I'm not saying people from a certain demographic should be nominated purely because they fill a gap; itshould be based on talent (and all those people nominated are very talented). However there needs to be more diversity in the judging panel.
