Quick Disconnect on Apprentice

Hi,

I was going buy a dark apprentice v4 in BR but wanted to be able to swap to a purple when i want to but quick disconnect is not a feature on the apprentice models. Please could someone tell me why is isn't available straight from the start and if it is possible to do myself (im not too bad at soldering and stuff so that doesnt bother me) if i buy the plug things and an MLS module. (just realised, is it because the apprentice is not MLS compatible?)

When I got my Standard Issue in, one of the first things I did was shake out the LED module (the economic V2/V3/V4 hilts don't use MLS modules but the 1" modules that are locked in place by the blade/plug), cut the LED wires, and solder in a set of JST connectors between the LED and the rest of the saber. From then on out, I could buy/assemble other LED modules and just solder in some male JST connectors to swap LEDs whenever I had the whim.
