If you want to build your saber entirely on your own, then all things you want to have on/in it (including the Covertec Wheel - this is the part on your saber, the Clip is the part on your belt where your saber sits) have to be ordered separately and put together at home. It is possible to have some of the metal work (widening the hole for an AV switch or installing a Covertec Wheel) done by Ultrasabers before your parts are shipped - just send them an email at
[email protected] and tell them what you want.
The other parts you need are this:
Individual Pommel/Body/Emitter or fully assembled, empty hilt (I think you already chose these parts)
Battery Pack (normal 4xAAA holder when you don't want to add the sound board/use the BuckPuck 1000mA or the 14500 Li-Ion battery/speaker combo when you want to add the sound board and/or use the BuckPuck 1000mA in your build)
Guarded Latching Switch (for a saber without sound) or Guarded Momentary Switch (for a saber with sound) - an alternative might be the AV Switch which looks far better on metal hilts than the guarded switches which are made from plastic (again, ask for a Latching AV Switch if you don't want to add the sound board and ask for a Momentary AV Switch if you want to add the sound board)
BuckPuck 1000mA (it is recommended, and you have to use the Li-Ion setup with this, so you need the 14500 Li-Ion battery/speaker combo even when you don't want to add sound) - alternative is a Resistor setup with Li-Ion battery setup, but it is more difficult to install - you need to calculate the right resistor values for your LED, and swapping LEDs is more difficult because you also need to change the resistor.
Main LED module in your favourite colour (either MLS or normal LED module - this must match your hilt's specification, not all hilts can house an MLS)
optional: Obsidian Sound Board
optional: Resistor (if going with an illuminated AV switch - maybe ask US if they can include the right resistor for the AV Switch LED)
optional: Fast or Normal Recharge Port (if you don't know how to install/wire it: maybe US can install this on your hilt before they ship everything or give instructions how it has to be wired into the circuit - simply ask them)
optional: Quick Disconnects (ask US if they can include the connectors in your order)
Tools and standard parts:
Heatshrink
Wires
Soldering Iron
Soldering Tin
Insulation Stripper
Electrical Tape
And, of course, you need a wiring diagram. You'll find many of them when you search the forum
