Hello. I've been making my own saber and I have a few questions. First off I like my design that I came Up with. However It looks like its going to be a Bit bland. A covertec Clip would be nice to have on the saber hilt. And Would the saber come with a ignition Button like I see on all the other ones? If possible Could you please tell me were to look to put these on the saber hilt? Or are things like the covertec clip things that I need to do myself at home?

If you want to build your saber entirely on your own, then all things you want to have on/in it (including the Covertec Wheel - this is the part on your saber, the Clip is the part on your belt where your saber sits) have to be ordered separately and put together at home. It is possible to have some of the metal work (widening the hole for an AV switch or installing a Covertec Wheel) done by Ultrasabers before your parts are shipped - just send them an email at [email protected] and tell them what you want.

The other parts you need are this:

Individual Pommel/Body/Emitter or fully assembled, empty hilt (I think you already chose these parts)

Battery Pack (normal 4xAAA holder when you don't want to add the sound board/use the BuckPuck 1000mA or the 14500 Li-Ion battery/speaker combo when you want to add the sound board and/or use the BuckPuck 1000mA in your build)

Guarded Latching Switch (for a saber without sound) or Guarded Momentary Switch (for a saber with sound) - an alternative might be the AV Switch which looks far better on metal hilts than the guarded switches which are made from plastic (again, ask for a Latching AV Switch if you don't want to add the sound board and ask for a Momentary AV Switch if you want to add the sound board)

BuckPuck 1000mA (it is recommended, and you have to use the Li-Ion setup with this, so you need the 14500 Li-Ion battery/speaker combo even when you don't want to add sound) - alternative is a Resistor setup with Li-Ion battery setup, but it is more difficult to install - you need to calculate the right resistor values for your LED, and swapping LEDs is more difficult because you also need to change the resistor.

Main LED module in your favourite colour (either MLS or normal LED module - this must match your hilt's specification, not all hilts can house an MLS)

optional: Obsidian Sound Board

optional: Resistor (if going with an illuminated AV switch - maybe ask US if they can include the right resistor for the AV Switch LED)

optional: Fast or Normal Recharge Port (if you don't know how to install/wire it: maybe US can install this on your hilt before they ship everything or give instructions how it has to be wired into the circuit - simply ask them)

optional: Quick Disconnects (ask US if they can include the connectors in your order)

Tools and standard parts:

Heatshrink

Wires

Soldering Iron

Soldering Tin

Insulation Stripper

Electrical Tape

And, of course, you need a wiring diagram. You'll find many of them when you search the forum Smiley Either

Thanks for the reply. I've been doing alot of reading and research about this and your post really helps. So To recap...
I have A Raven Pommel, overlord emitter, and a War glaive Body.
A 16" Blade.
Obsidian Soundboard.
The 1000mA Wired BuckPuck.
A modular led system.
An AV momentary switch. -Blue.
The 2x 14500 Li-ion Battery holder/speaker combo.

I've Done the Quick connects, recharge port, and color options and have those figured out. Ill have to email US about making the AV Switch fit correctly right?

Yes, that's correct. I think they will ask you to put your request on the AV Switch hole into the Order Comments field during check-out, but it's better to ask them first via email.

I do have one more question. Will my saber come with instructions on how to assemble the saber? I'm fairly sure I have the basics down but the last thing I want to do is put it together wrong.

No, there won't be any instructions provided by Ultrasabers. All DIY projects are supported on the forum ONLY. So you have to look for a wiring diagram (there are some useful ones in the Technical section - just use the Search function), solder the parts together and then put the guts into your hilt.
Also, if you're unsure about anything, a good way is to ask Master Bluespike or our fellow member and first Knight of the Obsidian Order, eerockk. They have much experience in DIY builds and can help you.
