Greetings,

I will be receiving my Bellicose next week.  I chose this one out of about 6 hilts I liked based on the overall design.  My intention in the near future is to add a claw to it .. just for some extra Sith menace!  I love the Starkiller claws & I intend to afix one of those onto the emitter shroud.  My question is what is the best way to do it .. and what is the easiest way to do it?  I imagine a small screw & nut would be easiest.  I just want to make sure I do it right the first time so it doesn't ruin the shroud.

The Bellicose actually has a nut on the reverse of the emitter used to fix the blade holder in place, so you may be able to use that to hold a claw in place as well (you'd need a longer threaded nut, of course).

Otherwise, it seems like the emitter should be thick enough to hold additional screws in place, but you'll have to work around that existing nut. Maybe consider two claws to either side of the nut? That could look pretty cool (although I'm horrified on principle that anyone would consider modifying a Bellicose! Grin)

I agree with you James. I like my Bellicose how it is. I really can't think of any way to modify it. Lol. Other than the claw idea.  Would be sick to see a Bellicose with a claw though. Let us know what you come up with and what size screw you'd recommend. I wouldn't mind a Dark Warglaive claw for my Bellicose really.

I just love the non-ignited light saber still having something offensive to it.  STABBY SITH!!  And I love Count Dooku's saber but its more slender design was not what a big guy like myself should wield.  I'll purchase the claw at a later time after I've tried out the Bellicose without it.  Might be satisfied with out it .. might want the addition.

I think you will like the Bellicose as is. I know I did when I first pulled her out of the box. Lol. Got mine in Guardian Blue, silver blade holder, gold button, non illuminated av switch, short groove pommel, couldn't afford FOC at the time. I might send back my Bellicose for upgrades one of these times. I want silver FOC added on and in hilt re-charge with kill key. But as Deep said I wouldn't really need the kill key for regular use but for cons mostly or parties. Plus I want that looseness near the emitter solved too. Long story so I wont go into it. I got the short pommel for the deeper sound. At least that's how I feel about the short pommel. Gives a deeper sound.

If you do add a claw anywhere else by drilling and tapping, be very careful so that whatever you doesn't obstruct the blade holder being able to go in and out of the hilt! If you did find the right size retention bolts and drilled and tapped your own claw holes, I imagine that they would become blade holder retention bolts themselves. In the latter case, the claw(s) would have to be removed to take the blade holder out. If you intend on doing lots of part swapping like MLS units or different style blades, then note that it will be a process... the Bellicose is complicated enough with its two-part blade retention system. If your plan is to mod it and basically only change the batteries once modded, then this is a non-issue.

I think James Casey is right, a Raven SS claw attached to the blade holder retention with a longer retention bolt would be the easiest solution as it's something that's already there and ready. Whether you choose that route or drill and tap your own, I can't wait to see pics! The Bellicose in pure form is my fave Ultrasaber, so I always love to see one modded. I've seen two Bellicose mods to date, and they've been impressive.

So my Raven Claw just arrived today.  I don't have a drill to get it in the spot on the emitter shroud where I want it but tested the look by using the retention screw hole.  I like it!

Thanks, guys!  I'm digging it.  Gonna drill a hole in the claw for the retention screw to go through so I can have it positioned just right.  Should end up being flush with the edge of the emitter connecting to the body.  I'll post another pic or two when it's complete!
