Hey guise. been lurking on here a fair while so i'm quite familiar with all your acronyms, colours, hilts etc. just have a few questions left before i sink my bank balance and commit.
I plan to get an aeon LE v3 with a standard UE blade in FO as i think this is the best tradeoff between cost and good lookin.
So here are my questions few.

The blade tip- how prone are these to come off, how difficult to put back on are they, and does anyone find the (seemingly small) amount of light spilling from the end dissatisfactory? I would be opting for a round tip because i'd like my saber quickly, but if it's accepted knowledge that the bullet tips are better then i'll consider that.

Shape of the light coming from the hilt-
on the US frontpage there are some photos of the blades in each colour, with the light wider at the emitter end of the blade, and tapering as the blade reaches the end. i think this looks sick. does this occur in real life (eg if you put it on a flat surface)?

Packaging-
as i'm ordering from UK and have a few friends interested in buying ultrasabers too, i was wondering how many sabers i could place in one order whilst still having them all arrive in one package. obviously if 4 sabers can be put into one box then the shipping costs are a quarter of what it'd be if 1 was put into each box.

Retention screw wrench-
what diameter is the allen key notch hole in the retention screw? is it an interesting (ie bespoke) shape? what i'm trying to ascertain is whether i need to lose a dollar buying something i already own.

illuminated AV switch-
i see this is an option on some sabers. basically wondering why not on this one as it would be lovely.

that is all! thanks guys i look forward to putting my childhood dreams to rest.

I'm new to sabers myself, waiting on my first order to arrive, so I can't answer all of your questions but I think I can help with a few...

Illuminated AV switch - I think you may be confusing the Aeon LE V3 with the regular Aeon LE. Two different models. The regular version appears to not have a sound option at all while the V3 version has the sound option. (the illuminated AV switch is an option for the Obsidian soundboard) The V3 version does indeed have the illuminated AV switch option, check under the sound menu.

As for the light of the blade "flaring out" I don't think it really does that as much as the pics you're talking about. There will be a little bit of flare, like from a flashlight, before the light tapers off a bit. Go to the gallery section on the forums and you can browse through a bunch of pics that people have posted. That'll give you a better idea of what it'll look like in person.

As for the allen wrench, I'm not sure of the exact size... I've seen it posted somewhere a few times but I can't recall where exactly... but I know it's in standard size and not metric. If you're in the UK you might want to spend the extra $1 just to make sure you get the proper size and have it ship along with your saber. It'll save you a lot of $$$ if you do that now rather than end up having to go back and order just an allen wrench later and then have that shipped to you by itself.

Those answers are pretty accurate from what I see. To answer on packaging, I've ordered as many as three in the same box before, and I've heard as many as four can fit. Definitely not any more than that in the standard box they use though. Also, the blade tips do occasionally come off, but they pop right back on and you can add a thin bead of superglue if you like to keep them from coming off again. US actually has a video on youtube showing how to do so properly! Smiley

cheers for the quick reply man, lightside point'd right there.
ah yeah cheers for clearing that up- didn't realise it was an obsidian option, and since i don't plan on buying obsidian (just yet at least)  i hadn't looked at those options.
I'd seen on the photos that there was some flaring, i was just wondering whether these photos were typically more representative of the actual effect than the frontpage photos- as they're often taken hilt-up it's hard to get a good view taking into account perspective etc.

don't think i'll bother with the screw wrench- i have all useful regular sizes of allen key ranging from tiny to huge so shouldn't be too much hassle, and if i don't have one, "hardware stores" -to use the american term- will.

in the meantime does anybody have this saber? i'd love to see it before i buy. cheers.

That video may help you a little, though I focused more on the Archon, it's got the Aeon V3 LE in AB as well. Smiley

lol Oh, youtube's covered in the things. Ultra has his own channel, and there's guys like me, Kham, and a bazillion others who post plenty ourselves. I'd be surprised to find a hilt without a video review. XD
