I recently ordered an Ultrasabers Aeon LE v5. I did not order a charge port, but it looks like mine came with one. Can anyone on here tell me if this is in fact a charge port? If so, can anyone tell me the type of charger I need to purchase for it? Thanks!  |

That is in fact a recharge port.  If you didn't order it, it MIGHT not be wired...perhaps though. What set-up did you get? (batteries, etc..) A 2.1mm charger, if I'm not mistaken. Edit: colincook2004 I deleted your duplicate post.  |

Thanks all. Much appreciated. I got the lithium ion batteries with a separate charger. Id like to see if it charges, but I also really dont want to damage the saber.

Li-Ion sounds good, that's a critical requirement - the standard AAA setup wouldn't work with a Recharge Port. If the Port is wired, the charger (see Robyn's link) should change to red. If it stays green, then it's not wired.

My Aeon LE v5 i got yesterday also came with one it looks like. Any way to tell if it's wired up before getting a charger? Anyone know what the extra wire would look like on the board/battery pack? I got it with Obsidian v4 Sound. So it's got the upgraded batteries.

I'd expect if you pull the battery pack out look inside. If the wires coming from the port are hooked up to something, you should be golden. |

If you pull out the battery sled as far as you can - carefully, you'd be able to look inside the hilt, and see if the recharge port has wires attached. The wiring is slightly different on the actual board, but it'd take a good study of a wiring diagram to know what to look for. You want an 8.4v, 2.1mm charger. |

You need 8.4v, the input voltage must always be higher than the nominal voltage of the complete battery pack (which is 7.4v for the Li-Ion setup) in order to charge it.
Also, I don't know if alternatives would work. You need to find one that fits the 2.1mm port...check the specs of Ultrasabers' charger first before ordering an alternative.

If it is wired, I'd take the whole hilt to Batteries Plus or an equivalent store, or maybe even better a local hobbyist store and see if they have an equivalent charger.
