One Jedi One Destiny (Ultra Wing Warlord)

« on: October 23, 2011, 10:06:02 PM »

Hi guys I picked up a super soaker shot blast from a junk sale the other day and Thought what could I make you into, this is what I came up with (first photo is a stock photo of a super soaker the other photos are mine with different Lighting effects (I used some of my sabers to light the photos.) Once I started painting it, It reminded me of a Mandolorian style blaster.

Hope you guys like it. Kalibos.

REALY Kalibos!?

This shart is amazing.

I think if we were ever to start like a LARP group or something like that,

That people that choose not to use a saber must use a NERF gun and painted and modify it.

That way when they fire we can see the round and potentially block it with the sabers.

Just a thought. Grin

Really good job though.

Needs some trigger guard mods, but I can really see that as some sort of combat shotgun or maybe even a pump action grenade launcher. Nice work on the paint with the two-tone and all.

I just noticed the insignia on the body and buttstock. Grin

And just as Jammo said maybe a little trigger guard action would pull it all together nicely.

Pretty amazing paint job Kalibos!  I've been meaning to slap some paint on my collection of Nerf guns.  Artorius has one all painted up and it looks really cool - it's that fully automatic machine gun called the Vulcan.

Oh man, a Star Wars LARP event with forum members?  Sounds like way too much fun Smiley

Good job with the blasters.  I have some rubies (brand) DL-44s.  I sanded down the raised lettering but couldn't get it smooth enough to look like it was never there.  I spray painted the blasters flat black and used satin clear coat to seal the paint.  The only thing I can come up with is to use some grayish paint to make those areas look like "wear and tear".

Any thoughts?

My buddy and I have been talking about it but it's hard to get it organized with peoples erratic schedules>

But sabers and NERF guns would be perfect for a SW LARP.

If anyone lives near Huntington Beach, CA it could be a possibility.

i saw some rubies brand stuff on amazon, but they had terrible reviews (flimsy, break easily) so i didn't buy one.

I would LOOOOVE that! Im in if it ever happens! We could include the story we have going in the RP forums if we ever did.

In my experience, a nerf dart is not easy to block at all. They can be dogged though.
I have been experimenting with other guns that have ammunition that can be blocked. I think a gun that shot a plastic golf woofle ball would be good. They have holes in them so they can travel a nice distance accurately at a good speed, probably much further than a nerf dart, and because of their increased size, they are easier to block.

Sweet blaster. Man having a larp battle would be loads of fun! shame we are all over the place so such a meeting would be near impossible, but one can dream.  Smiley

It's amazing what a simple coat of black spray paint can do to a toy!  I did this to my Nerf Vulcan and it looks awesome.  Seriously you can have some cheap fun with a can of spray paint and any projectile toy!

Well, Isn't Nova Star planning some kind of lightsaber summer camp (all ages I believe)? If he is, I'm sure many of us would be there. We could if we wanted to, extend our stay (or even while we are there) and have a LARP event. Just a thought.
