Greetings all, new member here with a review of the Aeon V4 LE, my first (and definitely not last) Ultrasaber. I only started seriously looking into buying a high-end saber last week, after a conversation about how disappointing some of Hasbro's recent offerings have been compared to the prequel-era ones of my childhood days; needless to say, once I discovered US the decision to buy was a very easy one to make! For my first purchase, I went for:

Aeon V4 LE
Stunt
Fire Orange
Heavy Grade 36" Blade
Windows In Emmitter
Standard Blade Plug
No other extras

Which came to a very reasonable price, even with postage to the UK, and having received it, I thought I'd post up a few thoughts. There seem to be a ton of Aeon reviews out there (having looked through most of them before buying this!), so I'll not spend too long covering what they do, and just mention a couple of things.

Overall Impressions, quality and service: No complaints here! The build quality seems top notch, nice and solid without being too bulky, practical to 'use' and any seemingly very sturdy as well. On an aesthetic note, the design of the Aeon is lovely and sleek, and moreover cool and unique without being too plain or too busy. I will definitely be buying a matching Initiate V4 down the line as well, the two should look great on display together.

Hilt: Excellent! Lots of the reviews mentioned the two main choke points on the saber at the emitter and above the switch, and those definitely feel natural, but I also find the bottom portion of the hilt and pommel a nice place for the second hand in a solid 2-handed grip. The length of the hilt is also handy, it gives plenty of freedom of movement on the handle which I think a shorter one might restrict.

I did change one thing here, taping some coins to the inside of the pommel just to bring the centre of gravity a bit lower (the natural grip initially was over the emitter, which with windows was not ideal), but that's purely for preference and ease of use with the heavier blade rather than anything wrong with the saber!

Blade: Construction-wise, this is definitely solid and feels like it could take a hit. In terms of light and colour, the orange was a bit deeper than I was hoping (in a perfect world I'd have had the blade in yellow, but that doesn't seem to be an option without going Emerald which is way beyond my budget), but still nice and uniform through the length of the blade. Going Heavy Grade rather than Ultraedge Heavy Grade does leave a bit of a gap at the sides of the blade, the light doesn't 'fill' the width of the tube; not anything that bothers me, but as I didn't see it in any reviews I thought I'd bring it up here. I might grab an UE blade with my next order and see if that helps without losing too much brightness.

Service: Thoroughly excellent. The order shipped within a couple of days, and from being posted on Thursday, arrived Monday morning in the UK, amazingly speedy and two full days earlier than the Fedex tracking suggested.

All in all, I'm dead pleased with the order, and already putting together a wishlist for future purchases! Thanks to Ultrasabers for the amazing product and a lightsaber cooler than anything my childhood self could ever have imagined owning!

Great news, the Aeon v4 is a very solid saber with a comfortable and pleasing design. (I love mine, no doubt Smiley)
Both the blade types have fans when it comes to FO colour, I swapped over my wife's FO saber's blades and tried both Ultraedge and standard mid-grade, both looks wonderful to me. The Ultraedge creates a "fuller" light effect while the standard blade gives more like a "classy" look. You'll see when you have your next order landed with UE blade in it Smiley
If you have pictures, please share some!

Hello TheParadigm!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on picking up a nice saber! I am pleased to hear how satisfied you are with the Aeon and how efficient and speedy the service was. (This reassures me as I am a resident of the Outer Rim of the UK!)

I will offer a word of advice, and that would be to open a Photobucket account (or similar photo file sharing account) as the other members here will ask to see pictures of this beautiful saber! (They say pics or it didn't happen!) I hope your Aeon serves you long and well!

Edit: just got beat to the point by Medwyn!

Thanks for the welcome, folks, and the advice on blade types. I think I may just order a few Grab Bag blades with my next purchase so I can experiment with different weights and lengths.

I will definitely post some pictures, I'm playing around with a few simple modifications to the hilt so I'll take some snaps once I've settled on the final design. Nothing fancy, just a couple of wraps along the handle to help with the grip and break up some of the silver.

Here's Take 1 of the customisation, some (fake) leather around the main grip areas, I went for black as I think it works to bring out the gold detailing, which the brown I tried first didn't really do.

Hey TheParadigm,

Welcome to the forum!

You can in fact order a yellow blade:

Great choice in the Aeon LE!  I have one as well:

I put the High Manticore pommel on it for added weight.

Nice review!  Some pictures would be nice, but it's still a good review.  Indeed, the Aeon LE V4 is a nice hilt.  Mine has a Covertec wheel on it, which puts a bit more weight towards the pommel end.  And, grab bags are definitely a great idea for your next purchase.  I've gotten some sweet sabers in grab bags, including my Aeon LE V4.  Smiley

Heh, Lord Rapine beat me to it.  Indeed, you can have yellow.  I have two hilts with yellow.  Smiley

Ah, wish I'd known about those colour options beforehand! Oh well, I'll keep it in mind for my next order, so thanks for the link!

Yeah, it's one of those things where you have to visit and search the forums to know about it.  Hopefully, those colors will eventually become store options.  Its my understanding that Arctic Blue, Sunrider's Destiny and Violet Amethyst used to be the forum colors, before those became regular store options (with an added fee, of course) and the forum colors we have now were added.

Paradigm, Here is a pic of my Sentinel LE V4 in sentinel yellow with the standard mid-grade blade so you can see what it looks like. I love it!

If you get a forum color or any mixed color, I would get the lithium batteries. They are worth the extra.

That's awesome, thanks! I might put off my orange Initiate for a bit and get a Sentinel or Apprentice in SY next instead...
