Title: Best place to start/resources to use?
Post by: MysticKnight on January 04, 2020, 03:39:19 PM
So! While I wait for my first saber to get here, I was wondering what the best place would be to look up techniques and such?

Gotta be prepped ofcourse  ;)

Basically any resources you know of that helped you, offered tips will be greatly appreciated!

Try this page. Darth Cephalus' single hand saber tutorials really helped me. If you have any questions, feel free to ask

and if you get impatient, you can start going through some forms and katas(you would have to look them up) using a yardstick.
If you wanna learn stage combat stuff, look up basic stage combat sword positions on youtube.
If you wanna duel, go over to the saber fighting forum on this set of forums and the have resources there as well.
If you wanna learn choreography, wait until you have your stage combat positions down pat and have another person to practice with.

Darth Cephalus is a great one and so is Master Venturous.

Agreed. Cephalus and Venturous would be my recommendations as well. Both have youtube channels you can find. I don't know how many tutorials he has, but Master Resolute (or Resolute Ryan on youtube) is another great one.
