Agreed. That Darth Maul one is one of my favorites

I loved Darth Maul, The Punisher and The Power Rangers one. If they had made Power Rangers like the fan film I would finally have watched.

Making a fan film is one of my deepest desires, and despite it being kicked around and in the works with friends for a number of years, the thought of putting out something less than spectacular has been an effective deterrent to real progress. Stay tuned...

I like The Punisher and Power Rangers ones too but Saban had a suit against Adi Shankar and Joseph Kahn when they released that gritty version of the Power Rangers which I think was dumb since it was pretty sweet.

Even though the Punisher short film was fan made, it has A list actors like Thomas Jane and Ron Perlman which are great actors who made it really interesting to watch

Have you seen the Shattered Grid (Comic Series) trailer featuring Jason David Frank?  It's really good and it's just a trailer, the series is phenominal

Been there.  Me and a friend spent years doing small films but lacked a lot of resources and help to truly make our visions come true.  We actually made a fan film crossover of Harry Potter and Star Wars.  A death Eater vs Sith Lord.  Props, costumes (I don't even think Ultrasabers was around then) location.  Help showed up late and we found out later when we reviewed the footage  every shot was horrible.... still peeves me off

Not the film we deserve, but the one we need.
