Title: Cant find the soundfonts.
Post by: sk8allday091 on August 06, 2015, 08:24:35 AM
Alright guys, so I just got a mini USB cable today to try and change the sound fonts on my sightsaber. I have the Manticore with obsidian sound (obviously) just got it a few months ago with I believe the obsidian V3 soundboard. But im having trouble trying to figure out how to download the sound fonts from this site, to a correct folder in the documents, and onto the obsidian launcher. I have a bunch of the fonts downloaded, Sith, Old Republic in the desktop area, but when I hit the load to file button and download them, absolutely nothing is their. How do I get them on properly? I have the launcher downloaded and watched a few of the tutorial videos, but I'm still struggling a bit.

If you have your fonts saved to your computer, when you are on the launcher go to sound wizard. when selecting the slot where you want that sound just search for the files that you saved on your computer. Maybe put the fonts into one folder on your desktop. That's how i make it easier for myself to find fonts that i downloaded.

Did you unzip the folders? Only then it's possible to access the sound font files. Also, "Save to file" (I think that's what you meant) means you're saving your customized sound font to a configuration file onto your PC, but not to the sound board! If you want to get your customized sound font onto the board, you have to click "Write to board".

If I didn't understand it right, could you post your procedure how you tried to write the files to the board? That would make it easier to figure out possible handling issues :)

What launcher do you use? v3.2.2 (referred to as "v3") or v4 (actually, it's version v1.03 of the renamed "UltraSabersLauncher")?

Not too sure how to unzip them, but when I pull up the obsidian launcher, ill go to the sound wizard, click load to file, and say look for the Sith folder. I have it under the documents and the folder shows, but when i click it on it and open it nothing is in there. It says its available for update as well, but I dont have a way to update it. Im on an ASUS computer. Should be windows 8. The sound fonts just arent showing up when i open up the sound wizard to open them and when im searching, at the top it just says "Obsidian Parameter File." I have no clue what to do..haha

Finally got it to work! After a grueling day trying to figure out how to extract files and unzipping them, I got it! I can now enjoy all the soundfonts! Starting with the Sith for now! Thanks for the help guys! Really appreciate it!! So much stress off my shoulder. Qui Gon Jinn would be far disappointed with all the emotions i've felt during this process...
