Title: The Flash Season Finale
Post by: cstoehr on May 20, 2015, 02:24:40 AM
I just watched the season finale of The Flash.  For those who haven't seen it yet, I won't reveal anything here yet.  However I am thinking the producers in their attempts to answer viewers' questions and wrap up this season's main story they have also created a critical paradox at the end of the episode.  What do you folks think?

I like the glimpses into a possible alternate future that was averted thanks to him waving himself off (which now that I think about it, sounds MUCH dirtier than it should).

No, I'm not embedding these.

Also the awesome arrival of a certain helmet...

And the cameo of a certain winged, mace-wielding female...

And regarding Cisco... Someone wanna pick up that phone? BECAUSE I FREAKING CALLED IT!

My question is with the way it ended, how can Barry Allen still be The Flash in his timeline?  Consider the fact that Eobard Thawne (Harrison Wells) is a descendent of detective Eddie Thawne.  When Eddie Thawne kills himself, Eobard is erased as if he had never been born.  If Eobard then was never born, he therefore never became the Reverse Flash, never went back in time and became trapped in the years of Barry's childhood, never built the super-collider, and never created Barry as The Flash.  So at the end of the episode after Eobard had disappeared, why didn't Barry's identity as The Flash also disappear?
