You're mod to the Mantis claws reminds me of the top of the staff and stronghold of Saruman in LotR and I really like the look of it. And that Menace and Chosen One - fancy stuff! Point awarded.

Step one was to find an engraver, some place that does a lot of trophies and plaues. Most of that type of thing is lasered nowadays. Step two is go to www.bobafonts.com (http://www.bobafonts.com) to download the fonts to your computer. Once downloded, type out a template of what you're looking to engrave (for demonstration), and send template and font to engraver. Then take your workpiece in to spec the layout and size, and BOOM. Straight line text is easiest to accomplish. Good luck getting text wrapped. That takes a special machine, and those are harder to find. The ChoScor staff definitely looks unwieldy, but still kind of cool. Maybe rather than a staff it'd be good as a long-handled 'sabre with the Scorpion's claw at the base for hooking... I simply had them milled down. I alotted for about .005 to be taken off of the mounting area, and then just straight milled them in line with the mountings. It significantly lightened the clawed emitter, and looked sweet to boot. I plan on getting more sets in the future to experiment with. I'll keep you posted. If you haven't seen SY in person, you just don't understand. It's just awesome. I like AB through a Mid-Grade blade. As per my usual Sithy-ness, I love BR. But I just find SY hypnotically appealing, beyond anything else. Since it's an Emerald saber, the settings are just 0R, 255G, 255B. But I have it set to pulse, so it may not have been at full power when I took the shot. My general belief is that warm colors look better with an UltraEdge blade, and cool colors look better through a MG blade. I recommend getting at least 1 of each and experimenting. You can always buy more blades. Nice collection, thanks for sharing. The problem is now, I have 7 more that are not pictured yet, and my camera is busted. I will endeaver to get pics up come Hell or high water. It's a company firewall so I can't do anything about it. It also just updated it parameters so now I don't get YouTube or Wookieepedia anymore. : >:( :'( Personally I was not impressed with the FO. But it looks better with the yellow AV than the SY (who knew). I was also disappointed with the SY. I was hoping for a more golden (read better mixed) color like the SY on an Emerald saber. I was hoping to get a really good SY on a Prophecy, even if I needed to go Emerald, but then I learned that V3s can't do both Obsidian and Emerald. WTF? You should ask Darth Torin for a pic. I know he has an FO Dom V4. |
