Title: V2 Diameter
Post by: UnfairBanana on March 28, 2014, 04:03:47 AM
Just a quick question because I don't have a ruler or anything to measure my own, does anyone know the diameter of the V2 hilts? Thinking about finding an unorthodox way off attatching an MHS emitter to it.

The V2 is 1.25 inches in diameter and the V3 is 1.45.

Here it is in description of initiate:

Thanks!

Although on second thought...Is that the measurement of the thicker part on the top of the hilt, or the thin part at the bottom?

Since I never bothered to measure mine I went and checked so we both know for the future.

Mine came out to 1.2575 between the last groove and pummel and that includes the anodizing.

The emitter end came out as 1.399 but I have polished the nodizing off that end.

Hope that helps you.

Much appreciated! Something around 1.5" should fit pretty closely around it. The plan is to have the MHS emitter held on only by the retention screw, while the blade is held in by the screws in the hilt. Since MHS emitters are threaded, there'll be a 1.5" adapter piece so there aren't these random threads hanging out on my saber. Ideally, I may also find a way to more-securely hold it in place. Maybe longer retention screws that also go through the adapter.
