Title: Question on claws
Post by: The 97th Acolyte on January 15, 2014, 05:38:17 PM
Hi, I'm looking to buy a War Glaive saber, but i prefer the Raven Claws. I think i might buy some (standard) Raven Claws and replace them, If possible. Anyone know whether this would be possible/easy enough? Thanks.

You can put them on there, but the Raven claws are longer than the War Glave emitter, so they'll stretch past the choke point.

Oh yeah, I didn't think of it like that. Thanks. I might buy one at first and see if it works/looks okay.

Why don't you try alternating the claws instead of replacing the warglave claws entirely?

Do the Raven claws have the same indents on the inside to match up with the pins on the War Glaive emitter like the War Glaive claws do to keep them lined up properly?

I assume they do, but I don't have the right size hex key (yet) to try removing the claws from my Raven SS to find out.

I'm not quite sure how you mean... Like, two of each?

I'm not sure about that either, I'd like to know... :P

Never mind. I just watched Darth Varadus' review and he has the claws off. The alignment pin (if that's what it's called) is below the screw. The War Glaive has two pins above the screw, so unless there are indents on the raven claws in the right spot, then the pins on the War Glaive emitter will get in the way of the Raven claws.

Ah, okay. Thank you. :)

No worries. I requested a couple of extra hex keys in the right sizes for removing claws from my Reaper and Raven in my last order, so I should be able to take one off soon and check it out.

I don't suppose it would take too much work to drill an indent in the right spots on the Raven claw if someone was particularly keen on adding them..

The bigger problem though is that the claws on my SS version extend down a fair way from the screw, and they would basically extend down about halfway into the choke/neck of the War Glaive emitter.

Bottom line is I don't think the claws are particularly interchangeable. If you wanted to go the other way and add the War Glaive claws (black or silver) to the Raven, then a) there wouldn't be any alignment pins in the right spot on the Rave to keep the claws lined up and in place, and b) you'd have the alignment pin on the Raven exposed (as per Darth Varadus' video review).

I just got my war glaive yesterday. One if the first things I'm gona do is design and make some custom claws. The standard claws aren't as bulky as they look when it's in your hands. Remind me and I'll send you some pics on how they attach if you want...

It is not the strongest nor most intelligent of the species that survives but the most adaptable.

One thing I'd love would be if the Malice emitter could have three claws attached at 120 degree separation like the Raven.
