Well the title says it all. I have two force fx 2010 sabers with the removable blades and they came with cheesy looking covertec-ish clips. Unfortunately they don't work with the ultra sabers sabers. So where can i get one that will guarantee it will fit asnd work, cause the hasbro ones are slightly too small. I found some on ebay, real covertec clips. Some the exact ones used in the movies, for about 20-25 with shipping. Another is a more rounded covertec clip, not square, but is only 10 bucks with shipping. So does anyone have those, or would know if they would work for my two ultrasabers?

Glad you brought this up cause it made me go check.  Like you, I have the ones that came with the Hasbro FX light sabers, but funny, none of my Hasbro or US sabers will work in them.

I purchased a Obi-Wan belt (with accessories) from Museum Replicas, and it included a covertec clip.  All my lightsabers (US and Hasbro) will work with it.  I checked with Museum Replicas and they will not sell just a covertec clip.

I would also like to purchase a couple more covertec clips for the just-in-case factor.  Now there is two of us who would like to know where to get some

Is it possible that US will be adding covertec clips to their inventory?????

I have to try also with my covertec clip to see if it works...
BTW how does your clip look like, Qui-Tom ?
Is there anything written on it to see if we can find it elswhere ? Cause the Obiwan belt and accessories are really not cheap :D

The other Covertecs you see on the net that come with no packaging are Chinese knockoffs.  I am guilty of buying the knock-offs myself before I knew better and the damn things are cheap plastic pieces of crap that have terrible fit and finish and are just frustrating to use.

Do yourself a favor, get a genuine Covertec.  You'll save money and have a simply better piece of hardware - which is important since it's going to be supporting your saber!

FYI

Got the covertec clip from amazon.com yesterday.   I checked every US saber I had, the wheels used by US are a little too big for the clip/clips I ordered.  I could get the wheel to go into the grove by forcing it in, but it would not click in. 

The three clips that I ordered came with a wheel, a couple of screws and a cheap flathead screw driver.  I was able to replace the US wheel with the one that came with the clip.  The wheel was not contoured like the one from US, but it worked.

I have purchased the chinese ones from e-bay and I have sanded the clip to let the wheels fit nicely. Simple and efficient. I think that I will take the official ones from amazon to be sure to have a good product and sand them too to have the US wheel in it.

Jodaan, where exactly on the clip did you "sand good".  I'm thinking of doing the same to the one I got from amazon.  I had rather use the wheels that US put on the saber instead of replacing it with the wheel that came with the covertec clip.   What did you use a dremel tool?

I ordered one from Amazon to test them to make sure they still fit.  They are tight at first, but loosen up with a few insertions and work fine.

I just used an Xacto-like model knife and rip off some off the plastic that is in contact with the center of the covertec wheel. The kind of "U-shaped" part of plastic wich goes between the two longer parts of the wheel. I get rip of like 1/2mm (sorry, I don't know how you guys split your imperial system shorter than the inch) from the U.

I have proceed like this : sanding - checking - repeat if necessary ;)

Ultra is right I don't have any lightsabers yet myself but my friend actually happens to own almost every double bladed lightsaber US sells right now. So the problem always arised during halloween how we going to carry these beauties around I went searching on Amazon and they work find just push it in and out for like 2 minutes. It works perfect and $20 with no shjipping is a nice deal because it works for phones as well!

Will give it a try.  Makes sense, I kind of remember now that my cell phone clip was pretty tight the first dozen times or so.

I couldn't order either (from Sweden). So I bought two clips from JustLightsabers.com instead.
They're located in the UK. My package got to me within two days.
These clips are more expensive. But they fit my Ultrasabers, and since I couldn't order from Amazon I figured it had to be worth it..
BTW, they are the same clips as the ones used in the prequel trilogy.

EDIT: Mine look exactly like the ones from TCSS (can't be sure if they're actually the same though).
And they fit perfectly. From what I gather, not as tight as the ones from Amazon, but the saber sure as hell isn't going anywhere ;)

Well actually, I got them just a week ago.
And I mean, they ARE made of plastic. But they feel like they'll definitely last.
I don't have anything to compare them with, but I don't think I'll break them anytime soon.

It's funny since I'd pay more in shipping from TCSS vs how much I'll pay at JustLightsabers.com... saving 10 bucks is worth not being able to track xD

Though first I'm going to shop around at walmarts and such, see if I can find somthing before I order. I mean my saber hasn't even arrived yet.

Ooohh, thanks for this! I was looking around on Ebay.com for such clips, but shipping costs seemed pretty steep. Having a store just across the Northsea from our UK neighbours is awesome. Bookmarking their website!  8)

And now I've had some time to try it out. It was really a tight fit cause the "neck" of the wheel on my saber was just a little bit thicket than it should be. So I just took apart the belt clip (four screws in the back), and filed out the U part to make it a little wider.  Hope this helps anyone still looking for one!

I can vouch for the one's Ultra listed they work really well on my Consular. Plus unlike in the picture mine has a silver front piece not a white one. I really like it! :)

Its funny when you go to the covertec WIPS system product page on amazon, the "people who bought this also bought" section is all star wars! guess thats all they're good for.

Well I am now sad. I bought one, and recieved it today. I opened it, and first it was not in it's orginal packaging. Second, it get broke apart after putting in my sabers a few times. it was fine for awhile, until i did my prophecy and it just came apart. it snapped back together, but now it won't hold anymore. I know I can glue the back on, that won't affect it, I am just worried about the front staying on. I will contact amazon with this problem, and see if I can get this fixed.

Sorry for the double post, but the company sent me a new one, and i did not have to send the old one back. This one has screws in the back. So i think I am good.

I stumbled onto a great website that has the movie size issue covertec clips.  These come with a clip on the back for easy placement on the belt.  I got great customer service from this guy and got the clips in really quickly.

That's the one I took one week ago on ebay, and it just fits perfectly, no need to loosen it, I don't have to complain. they sell it alone or by two. the seller is "lurcher ... something" and there are the ones from the starwars belt clip website you just posted =)

I'll have to keep this in mind for when my saber finally comes (unfortunately I did not order an ultrasaber :( )

Is there any comparison between the different sellers types of clips? You know as in if someone owns each type and has tried them?

I changed mine out from my old fx to the better ones

I like the one from Parks Sabers, because in addition to the covertec wheel, they also accommodate d-ring sabres.

I can vouch for the swbeltclip clips; I bought one from their store on eBay.  Fits my Ultrasaber perfectly, the belt portion has a lip on it so it won't slip up off your belt when you're grabbing your saber, and it's all black - plus, I like the rectangular shape vs. the obviously modern cell-phoney looking shape of the legit covertec clip.

My only caveat is that the plastic feels a little cheap - not like, gonna-break-at-any-moment cheap, but just..  cheap-ish.  Oh, and the release mechanism action is great (the saber is really locked in until you squeeze it) and can be activated with your drawing hand if your fingers are long enough.  :D

No they do not.  You have to buy the clip separately.

That said I would like to think maybe in the future they would incloud them or maybe hae it as an add on. Perhaps it could match the covertec knobe...

Just a quick heads up about which clip not to buy.

The Krusell Multidapt clips look exactly like the Covertec clip but the wheel is way smaller and completely incompatible with the knob on an Ultrasaber (and most other sabers).  It's a shame because their clip is mounted on a nice leather belt loop.  Pictured below is the clip and included plastic wheel next to my Overlord for size comparison.

That knob is nowhere near the size of the cover tech.

There is no way to attach the smaller knob or would it be flimsy.

Yeah, it's a shame, but it's okay, I'm really happy with my SWbeltclip (earlier in this thread). 

I'm sure I can think of some other accessory to attach the Krusell wheel to.  Macrobinoculars or a comlink perhaps.   :)

That is the way to go, find the silver lining in it; too many get caught up in the negative, if it doesn't work with what you're doing than chances are it can work with something else.

Oops! it doesn't fit but I have an old Sidekick that would look tight hanging off my belt as my "All-Tool" for Kham.

IDK if it's been mentioned in the suggestion box but apart for everything else and option to pick up the cover-tech clip that goes with the wheel when you order.

I got mine from TCSS, if anyone would like the link PM; though it shouldn't be to hard to find.

It fits well and holds tightly but releases smoothly once you've got the feel for the motions involved.

 

Baught these too. The ones coming with 2 in one order from lurcher on e-bay. Same reason too... I like the full black.

Not to necropost, but just to make it known that the Jedi-Robe ones are of amazing quality.  They feel pretty sturdy, and come with a wheel!

Maybe I should have waited a bit...I just order 4 from TCSS, with some blade plugs.  But hey!  Just gives me some spares in case of costume malfunctions:)  Can't wait for the movie replica ones.  Are they very sturdy?
