Title: PayPal sucks.
Post by: Sciggs on October 10, 2013, 02:53:36 PM
So, I figured I'd use PayPal to buy my first sabers. I wanted them shipped somewhere other than my billing address, so I decided to go through PaySuck. They've had my payment on "hold" and "under review" because they multiple times I've contacted them and the confirmed addresses and everything else just screams "suspicious."

"Reviews of payments will take up to 24 hours" my butt. I had no idea 24 hours of their time equals over a week of mine.

It's a little aggravating. I'm immediately canceling my account with them as soon as this stuff goes through.

Ouch, that sucks.  I used Paypal on my first order as well for the same reason.  Did you use a credit card or a bank account?  I used my bank account and it processed immediately.

You would definitely not be the first to have this sort of trouble with PayPal.  It seems some people have no trouble and some have lots of it.

I used my bank account too. I guess I just didn't think it through or look up enough reviews about PayPal before signing up, if I had known I would have just had it shipped here and dealt with that problem instead.

What's worse is this is my first saber so the suspense is killing me!

Ohhh....  yeah the first transaction you do I'm not surprised there was a delay.  Though usually it doesn't take them THAT long to verify your bank account and let you start using it.

Ouch. Sorry to hear that Sciggs.

I've had a few issues with PayPal over the years - nothing serious, and I guess a lot of it is them being very cautious about 'suspicious' activity... But still, you'd hope they'd hit any deadlines that they've set for themselves.

I've found when ive used my paypal to purchase sabers, the order is processed much quicker- ive had em shipped out within a few days- once it was same day. any time we've used credit card, its been the better part of a week for the order to be processed- either its coincidence and there's been delays in processing the order each time, or its because international money transfer takes so damn long. so I stick to paypal.

sorry to hear you got stuffed around though :(

Sciggs... i am really sry to hear your troubles.. i use pay pal for almost everything.... but i also dont use the bank/credit card to add funds, i spend the 5$ extra to use cash on a money card, anything from 20$-500$ can be put on them, then you redeem them on the site and bam, instant money, no hassle, ready to be spent....

i know it may not be this easy... but i hope it can help in some way

Glad you guys are all on my side haha  ;D I got everything working now, I had to call three times and finally talk to a supervisor only to learn that "due to a bug in the system" they couldn't release my payment, so I had to cancel it entirely and start over. This one went through though :) I guess it was just a fluke, but it's still enough to make me say, eh, probably no more PayPal for me.

sciggs... if you wanna use the pay from the pal... lol, use the pre-paid ... its about 5$ for the charge of the moneycard and you can load up from 10$ -500$ on 1 moneycard... but its instant, and no hassel to load it into your paypal account, no bank needed

i use paypal for a few online bills, and my Us payments are all done with paypal.. but, i can understand you wanting to step back  for a bit from them lol, playing with money is never fun... unless its monopoly money ^>^  WHOOOOPIIIEEEEE
