I'm looking to purchase two of the grab bag sabers, and wanted to hear the experiences others had purchasing them. I like the idea of supporting creativity and getting a bit of a surprise, and I'm not too fussy about my hilts because I'll be customizing them anyhow, but yeah, definitely interested how this works. I'm going to be getting a purple metal hilt and a green metal hilt with some neat styling.

So, what kind of cool designs have you guys gotten from the grab bag?

I got a Malice as a grab bag recently. It was a nice hilt, until my crappy repaint....

I received a Blazing Red Liberator!!

Sounds like if the Force is with you, you might just get a hidden gem in those bags, if I have some Spare cash might have to try it out

I was cheap and didn't want to pay the extra $10 to get a guaranteed metal hilt.  I rolled the dice and I lost LoL.  PVC for ME!

It would have been well worth it though my friend, but im sure you will still be very happy with your saber

Got me a green Standard Issue. Which works well as I dont have any green sabers myself. (My son has one so its not technically mine) Look for a review soon.

I might have to leave up to the Force sometime and see what I get. Then I'll promptly customize it...

I might try this. Can you choose colors? I don't mind wich hilt i receive but it would be nice to be able to choose the color of the saber.

you can, you can choose blade or no blade, the color, metal or pvc hilt

Pardon my ignorance guys, but what and where are the grab bag sabers? Is it something you can do on your way through "checkout"?

Grab bag sabers are in the quik ship section, there sabers that might have some flaws in them, chip in the paint or something minor and US wants to get rid of them, there cheap and when you order you will be sent a random style of hilt

There was someone on the other foum(fxsabers.com) who got a Redemption and someone else got a Bane! If only my luck were that good...

I dont think theyre all defective, some of them are just canceled orders or items that are no longer being sold but still in stock, or maybe just experimental models.

I have to agree though, the will of the living Force was at work for the guy who got a Bane from the grab bag.

I really want to try a grab bag saber, but I'm at the beginning of my illuminated saber collection currently and only have a standard issue orange ultraedge. I want a white or red ultraedge metal saber as my next one and it makes me sad to roll the dice and possibly get a plastic saber or a color I don't want yet. Mind you, they're all amazing, but I want either a white to have to match the beautiful winter wonderland I'd be playing with it in or order a Lees filter to make it yellow, I've seen pictures and am very impressed, or a red one because orange just seems like the brother saber color to a sith's saber. After seeing a dark purple sabers being wielded by sith inquisitors in SWTOR vids, I had hope for a zabrak or pureblood sith warrior with a red and an orange saber.

At any rate, it's also so very tempting because I could land a prophecy of all things, a redemption, another standard issue, the aeon. But I could also end up with plastic, and I play rough and don't want a broken saber at some point since I'm poor.

So many areas I don't want to roll the dice basically lol, and it makes it cost moar!

You can select what material the hilt is made of. It's an extra $10 for metal though.

I'm also going to be adding a blade and most likely color though lol, I think it went up to $70 w/ ultraedge silver blade metal hilt

I just ordered a grab bag saber using the saberforum discount! When it shows up I'll let everyone know what I get.  I only specified a metal hilt. Everything else is random...but I don't think I've ever seen a metal hilt from US that I didn't like or thought has potential for customization.  I'm a machinist so...the sky is the limit!

I just put in my order for a metal hilt ultraedge random colored blade with a strong emphasis on me wanting red or white :) I hope grab bag sabers get here quicker than usual, I was impatient with my rushed before christmas order lol

I just ordered my third-ever grab bag saber. I've always asked for metal hilts and in the past have gotten a Steel Standard Issue and a nameless metal/pvc saber that looks a bit similar to the old Agressor. I'm hoping that with so many new metal hilts I get something good this time. Fingers crossed.

I'll give everyone a heads up on the metal grab bags.  Right now we have a BUNCH of Standard Issue Aluminums, a bunch of Liberators, several Dominix v2, a couple nameless MHS sabers, and a couple single color Banes without sound, and a couple single color Prophecy's in there.

I'll also be even more honest, if you pick random for the hilt type, you are 90% assured a Malice, we have these coming out of our ears.

Does anyone have a pic of this Malice? I dont see it on the website or on the youtube channel, Am I missing something?

Ooh, here's hoping I get a Liberator. Though I could always use another Bane. I love that hilt.

I'm not sure if I'll go for the grab bag (metal) or if I'll go for a specific saber yet. If I did do the grab bag I'd be hoping for prophecy or bane for sure though.

I will shell bricks if I end up with a liberator or bane or prophecy lol. I of course wouldn't complain about a dominix or SI, but as far as pricing goes I was going to go for an aeon because I like silvery sabers better, and I already have an SI. I can't wait to see what I get :D

Finally caved and bought myself a grab bag saber. Can't wait to see what I get. The only thing I put is that it has to be a metal hilt. After seeing what Deep told us, I can't lose no matter what I get. :)

The malice is available in single blade sabers, plastic hilt. It's got kind of a neat cut in the emitter so theres a shroud over it but not all the way. I kinda like that!

Have you guys been ordering all these sabers with our without blades? Just curious on whether or not you were only ordering hilts.

I'm planning on ordering one with a blade pretty soon here. I wanted to get a heavy-grade so I can compare it to the ultra-edge heavy blades I currently have. I'll probably specify that, plus metal hilt, and leave the rest to chance.

I got the heavy duty since its all the same price for the grab bag blade upgrade, but since i ordered 2 (my first time ordering sabers so i figured why not) i got an ultra edge to compare the two.  delivery estimate is next week i cant wait to check em out

So before I had decided on what saber I was ordering I was looking at the Aeon as my next one in white or red, but I couldn't decide between those colors, so I left it to the Force and emphasized I wanted white or red. Just got it not an hour ago, and wouldn't ya know it, I got a blazing red Aeon! I'll do a review with pictures soon :)

I really hope the Force is with me. I don't have the spare cash for something as awesome as a catalyst so i really hope that the Consular Green metal Grab Bag saber i ordered will be one of the nameless MHS hilts (probably won't happen but hope never hurts ;D). Can't wait to see what i get.
